What Nonstandard Installation Items Are Not Covered with HughesNet Installation?

Occasionally, there are customers who want to customize their internet installation to meet specific requirements or to include certain enhancements. Other times, a specific location where internet will be installed will require some additional work that goes above and beyond what would be considered standard procedure for such an installation.

Licensed HughesNet installation teams itemize all costs for nonstandard work and equipment, meaning it will not be covered in the standard pricing structure you get. HughesNet customization is therefore possible, but will cost you a bit of extra cash. Talk to your installer to learn more about your options!

When performing HughesNet customization, you will need to provide an authorization signature before the installation team can do the work. This notes your approval of the nonstandard fees that will be added to your account for the work.

Here are just a few examples of some of the nonstandard items we most frequently come across when performing HughesNet installation jobs in San Bernardino County:

  • Additional networking: Any wireless or hard-wired networking beyond what’s offered with the built-in wi-fi modem will be itemized as part of your network customization costs.
  • Configuration: If your computers need to be configured to work with wireless or hard-wired networks beyond what is offered by HughesNet’s built-in wi-fi modem, this will also result in some additional costs. Our installation teams are capable of performing this work for you.
  • Special purchases: HughesNet customization services may require some additional materials and equipment that wouldn’t be necessary in standard installations. Non-covered items may include special purchases of materials, such as molding or cosmetic hardware that’s specifically designed to cover up cables that would otherwise be exposed, creating a more aesthetically-pleasing environment with better cable management.
  • Structures: Non-covered items also include removal, repair or construction of structures to hide or support the HughesNet system when it is installed.
  • Surveys: Some customers may need multiple site surveys, which necessitate more than just the installation visit. These additional visits will be itemized along with your other customization costs. Typically, these additional surveys and visits are to determine potential HughesNet dish locations, but they may be for other purposes as well depending on the needs of the customer.
  • Rentals: Some customers performing HughesNet customization work may need to rent lifts for tall commercial locations that are not otherwise accessible via ladder. These rentals would be added to the itemized list of fees that are not covered under standard pricing arrangements.
